30 Players in 30 Days: Brandon Ingram, Los Angeles Lakers

In an attempt to get myself and others hyped about the 2016–17 NBA season, I brainstormed several different preview ideas. Many outlets are doing team previews, but this is a player’s game, damnit. Why not take my favorite and/or most interesting player from each team and write a l’il somethin’ somethin’? I decided to write them in order of my projected finish for that team.

Next up, the only player in the NBA that makes me feel fat: Los Angeles Lakers’ swingman Brandon Ingram.

My Fave Video

Ingram has such a silky smooth game, plus it seems like he has the demeanor to get better. I think his ceiling is a poor man’s Kevin Durant, and if he’s able to get stronger without sacrificing his explosiveness, there’s a chance he could breakthrough that ceiling.

If I was a Laker fan, I’d be super gassed up right now. A lot of people wrote off D’Angelo Russell’s up-and-down rookie year, but when Byron Scottfinally said, “I should play this kid, I’m gonna lose my job anyway”, his game sky-rocketed. Him and Ingram give the Lakers a nice one-two perimeter punch. Truthfully, I want to rank them like three or four spots higher… but damn, they’re young.

In any case, I’ll be keeping an eye out for Ingram’s growth. He’s got a ton of potential and a good head on his shoulders.
